Our material

We only use sustainable and environmentally friendly materials. In our first collection we focused on TENCEL™ Lyocell.

TENCEL™ Lyocell

Origin

TENCEL™ Lyocell is a sustainable fiber obtained from the renewable raw material wood. The wood used for the production of TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers comes from natural forests and sustainably managed plantations, which are certified and controlled by the Lenzing Group's wood and pulp policy. Currently, trees from Austria, Croatia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland and the USA are used for production. TENCEL™ lyocell fibers have received the BioPreferred® designation from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA). TENCEL™ is a trademark of Lenzing AG.

Sustainable + biodegradable

Production

The fiber consists of cellulose, which is dissolved from the wood used for the production. The production cycle of TENCEL™ Lyocell is closed so that the water and solvent used in production can be recycled. In the process, 99% of the solvent can be returned to the production cycle, thus conserving resources.

Sustainable properties

TENCEL™ Lyocell is produced in an environmentally friendly way and is biodegradable. Since we do not use any blends in our TENCEL™ Lyocell products, the properties of the material are retained. This means that the fiber can be further processed or returned to nature even after it has been used. The low bacterial growth and the high quality favour that the product has to be washed less and thus additionally resources are conserved. Since the material is of plant origin, it is vegan.

Certifications

The material we use comes from the company Lenzing AG from Austria. The company specialises in sustainable materials and their fibres have been awarded the BioPreferred® designation. The TENCEL™ Lyocell material is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and all of the company's production sites are FSC® CoC (chain of custody) certified. External suppliers are subject to and selected based on the company's ethical, ecological, social and economic principles.
