In the course of our website operation, we process data, including personal data. We collect different data depending on which functions they perform.

The legal basis for the processing of the data is, in the case of your consent, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) DSGVO and, if the registration serves the fulfilment of a contract or the implementation of pre-contractual measures with you, additionally Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) DSGVO.

3.3 Collection of personal data when registering for our newsletter:

In order to provide you with regular information about our company and offers, we offer the sending of an e-mail newsletter. With your newsletter registration, we process the data you entered during registration, such as:

  • E-mail address
  • as well as other voluntary information

To prevent misuse, we will send you an e-mail after your registration in which we ask you to confirm your registration (double opt-in procedure). In order to be able to prove the registration process in a legally compliant manner, your registration will be logged. For this purpose, we process your registration and confirmation time as well as your IP address.

The legal basis for sending the newsletter is your consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) a) DSGVO. The data processing in connection with the sending of the confirmation email for your registration and the associated data logging is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 (1) f) DSGVO based on our legitimate interest in the proof of your proper registration.

For the dispatch of the newsletter, we use service providers to whom we transmit the aforementioned data. The data is transmitted to the servers of the following service providers in the USA:

4. Purpose of the processing of personal data

We only store your data for the following purposes:

  • For the processing of orders (including payment processing and, if applicable, credit assessment)
  • for the sending of advertising by us
  • for customer service
  • To provide our online offer, in particular the webshop, and to design it to meet your needs
  • To improve our web offer

The legal basis for the provision of a service requested by you is Article 6 (1) (b) DSGVO. Otherwise, the legal basis is Article 6 (1) (f) DSGVO, whereby our legitimate interests lie in the above-mentioned purposes.

Your personal data will only be transferred to third parties if the transfer is necessary within the scope of contract processing or for billing or collection purposes (e.g. shipping company or payment service provider) or if you have expressly consented to it.

The legal basis for the transfer of data to third parties for the purpose of contract processing or for billing purposes is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO and for the transfer in the context of legally ordered cases Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO.

    

5. Duration of data storage

We store your data for as long as the respective purpose requires, taking into account your legitimate interests.

Log and device files are automatically deleted as soon as the respective session has ended. Log files for security purposes and as a precaution against attacks on our websites are automatically deleted after 7 days at the latest. The storage period of cookies varies according to the type of cookie and depends on your browser settings. Analysis data collected and processed by Google Analytics is automatically deleted after 14 months.

If there is a retention period under tax law for certain data processed for the processing of sales contracts, the data is stored for 6 or 10 years. During this period, the processing of the data is restricted after 2 years, i.e. the data is only used to comply with legal obligations. The obligation to retain data begins at the end of the calendar year in which the order was placed by the customer or the contract was fulfilled.

Even if your data is not subject to a legal obligation to retain it, we may refrain from immediate deletion in cases permitted by law and instead first block it. This applies in particular in cases where we may still need the data in question for the further processing of the contract or for legal prosecution or legal defence (e.g. in the case of complaints). The relevant criterion for the duration of the blocking is then the statutory limitation periods. After expiry of the relevant limitation periods, the relevant data will be permanently deleted.

   

6. Disclosure of personal data to third parties

In order to fulfil the aforementioned purposes, we work together with some service providers, such as technical service providers (e.g. operation of data centres) or logistics companies (e.g. postal companies such as DHL). Where we use these service providers as processors, the service providers will only have access to your data to the extent and for the period necessary to provide the relevant service.

To operate our online shop, we use Shopify, a service provided by Shopify Inc, 126 York Street, Suite 200, Ottawa, ON, Canada, K1N 5T5. This service provides an e-commerce platform through which we offer our goods for sale. The data transmitted as part of your order is stored on a Shopify server in the USA. Shopify has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. The legal basis for the transfer of data to third parties for the purpose of contract processing or for billing purposes is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO and for the transfer in legally mandated cases Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c DSGVO.

8. Contact form

If you send us an enquiry via the contact form, we will only use your data to process your request. This data will not be used for advertising purposes or passed on to third parties.

The legal basis for the processing of data transmitted via the contact form or in the course of sending an e-mail is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. If the contact is also aimed at concluding a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b DSGVO.

The data you enter in the contact form will be stored by us until you request us to delete it, revoke your consent to store it or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies.

   

9. Newsletter

We offer you the possibility to subscribe to our newsletter in order to receive further information about our company and our products, marketing campaigns. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will use your e-mail address to send the newsletter. We process the data you enter during registration (e-mail address and other voluntary information). We use the so-called double opt-in procedure to register for our newsletter. This means that after entering your e-mail address in the corresponding field, you will receive an e-mail asking you to confirm your registration. This is done to prevent misuse of your email address. In order to be able to prove the registration process in a legally compliant manner, your registration is logged. This includes the time of registration and confirmation as well as your IP address.

We also collect various data when sending out our newsletters. Using web beacons or tracking pixels, in addition to technical information (e.g. IP address, browser type and operating system), we can record whether and when a newsletter was opened and which links were clicked on. Tracking pixels are single-pixel image files that are stored on our website. We use this information to create success analyses for the statistical evaluation of our campaigns as well as pseudonymous user profiles. If you click on a link in the newsletter, we also merge this usage profile with the pseudonymous usage profiles that are generated when you use our online shop (e.g. surfing and shopping behaviour). This enables us, for example, to tailor newsletters to your individual interests. We record when you read our newsletters and which links you click on in them. The legal basis for sending the newsletter is your consent in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 a) DSGVO. The data processing in connection with the sending of the confirmation email for your registration and the associated data logging is carried out in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 f) DSGVO due to our legitimate interest in proving your proper registration.

   

10. Cookies

11. Analysis tools

We use the information and data generated by cookies and tracking pixels to analyse the use of our website, our marketing campaigns, including newsletter campaigns. We use the Google Analytics tracking tool from Google on our website. We have no influence on the scope and further use of the data collected by Google with this tool. This website uses the remarketing function of Google Inc. 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This function is used to present interest-based advertisements to website visitors as part of the Google advertising network. We use social plugins of social networks (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Google+) on our website on the basis of Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 lit. f DSGVO in order to make our company better known via these. The underlying promotional purpose is to be regarded as a legitimate interest within the meaning of the DSGVO. The legal basis for the data processing is our overriding legitimate interests in the optimal marketing of our online offer, for customer retention and customer acquisition in accordance with Art. 6 (1) f) DSGVO.

Facebook plugin:

Plugins of the social network Facebook, provider Facebook Inc., 1 Hacker Way, Menlo Park, California 94025, USA, are integrated on our pages. Furthermore, we use the so-called conversion tracking with LinkedIn Insights Tag, a tool of LinkedIn Ireland, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland, on our website. For this purpose, the LinkedIn Insight Tag is integrated on our pages and a cookie is set on your end device by LinkedIn. This informs LinkedIn that you have visited our website, whereby your IP address is also collected. Timestamps and events such as page views are also stored. This enables us to statistically evaluate the use of our website in order to constantly optimise it.
